Adelante Capital Scholar (2011)
Ms. Lopez worked as a hair dresser and Safeway baker before becoming a first generation college student at Contra Costa College. She plans to transfer to UC Berkeley to obtain her bachelor’s degree in Microbiology. Ms. Lopez has been a Dean’s List Honor student since 2006, and is the former president of the Alpha Gamma Sigma Honor Society. She works as a student assistant/program coordinator for the Center for Science Excellence Program and continues to motivate students to reach their goals. Ms. Lopez taught biology to sixth graders and tutors biology to high school students.
